Mark Theland
Mark Theland the newest voice to come out of Toronto actually started singing and learning to play by ear the guitar, bass, keys and drums in the church as his father was a minister and singer in Brooklyn N.Y where he grew up, he was only 17 though when his father passed away. Mark then migrated to Toronto where he had family although originally born in Montreal he had no roots there so it was in Toronto where he got his start dabbling in singing on and off not taking it too serious…

Hip Hop was just starting to really have it’s own identity in Toronto when he hooked up with DJX who had his own radio show at the time here he began showcasing his writing skills on hooks over Hip Hop beats. It was here you could say he not only learned how effortlessly song writing was to him but how infectious his hooks were, a few tracks were recorded for various artists of the time but due to his lack of business knowledge then no credit was given to him . Walking away from it all could only last so long however and 2005 saw where he decided not to waste his talents any longer and began applying his corporate business and marketing skills to the business of music. 2006 saw him writing “hooks” songs and recording with Righteous, Sylent Sam, Octave to name a few 2007 promises to be the year where Mark Theland will be heard in more ways than one as he lends his incredibly captivating voice, hook making skills to the Hip Hop community and Debuts his album “My Voice My time” later this year.
